Professional Counseling
Counseling
People need a place to heal.
Life can hurt. Families change. Couples struggle and individuals need a place for assistance. When problems arise in our personal lives and relationships, it is encouraging to know that there is help available from compassionate people. Because CFS has a reputation in the community for providing compassionate and professional assistance, we receive many calls for help.
The Family Life Program began in 1985 as an outreach of Christian Family Services (CFS) to address the many aspects of the family. All of our therapists are well trained and have received proper credentials in their respective fields and share a commitment to therapy from a Christian perspective. Much of the counseling provided by the Family Life Program centers around strengthening marriage and family relationships.
The therapists also work with individuals who are dealing with depression, grief, divorce and many other issues that require compassionate understanding and care. In addition to providing individual, couple, and family therapy, the Family Life Program offers educational and enrichment opportunities throughout the year such as Parenting seminars, Marriage seminars, and groups for individual and family enhancement.

We are a solution focused, strength based, counseling program that uses several cognitive behavioral modalities to help our clients achieve success in accomplishing their goals in the shortest amount of time possible. We want to come, get help, and move on to live your life. All of our therapists have a faith perspective which we use when it is appropriate for our clients.
What happens in my first counseling session?
Every therapist is different, but generally the focus of the first session is to understand the issue that has brought you to counseling and identifying specific goals you want to accomplish. You may also be given tasks to complete between sessions to help you reach your goals.
